At a time when Statutory Inquiries play an increasingly significant role in our society, with heightened public scrutiny and the incurring of substantial costs, the House of Lords’ Statutory Inquiries Committee has recently reviewed the landscape. The resulting report, “Public Inquiries: Enhancing Public Trust”, was published on 16th September 2024 and has made a number of key findings and recommendations.
