David Groome and Ari Alibhai were instructed by the Premier League in the private prosecution of a highly sophisticated multi-jurisdictional fraud, which generated over £750,000 and caused losses exceeding £1 million to the sports and broadcast industries.

On Friday 13 July, at Newcastle Crown Court, HHJ Batiste gave John Haggerty a five year three month sentence, while his wife, Mary Gilfillan, was given a 2 year suspended sentence.
