Jan Beasant (a former detective) is suing the police for up to £500,000 in the High Court.

The case of Charlene Downnes, a young girl, 14, who's body has never been found. Charlene was groomed by a sex gang in blackpool, the gang had connections to takeaway fast food shops in the local area. The police have failed to bring anyone to justice over the disappearance of the teenage girl, which has lead to Jan Beasant (a former detective) suing the police for up to £500,000 in the High Court as she claims she was forced to quit her job and made a scapegoat for a mishandled investigation into the murder of a teenage girl.
