Ari Alibhai gave the keynote speech at the Intellectual Property Crime Conference, held at Aston Villa Football Club.

The talk provided an overview of the legal framework underpinning the right privately to prosecute, and the ability of law enforcement to engage in such cases, as well as recent developments in IP caselaw including reference to both Millington (Supremacy) and King (Dreambox), to demonstrate the ability to tackle novel points of law & serious organised crime through properly prepared and presented private prosecutions.

Ari presented to an audience comprising of senior police officers from regional and national cyber and economic crime units, as well as representatives from major broadcasters, rights’ holders and anti-piracy organisations including The Premier League, SKY and FACT.
