Adrian Darbishire QC represented AB, the Projects Manager of a building company.
Mr B, the Managing Director and the company were each charged with manslaughter. A worker had died after a wall collapsed during building work. Following negotiations with the prosecution, Mr B pleaded guilty to two offences contrary to the CDM Regulations and was formally acquitted of the manslaughter charge. Mr B received a suspended sentence together with an order to pay £5,000 towards the prosecution costs.
