QEB Hollis Whiteman member Linda Strudwick defended dentist Ashfaq Choudhry charged with the murder of Zkariyya Islam, a Muslim faith healer. Choudhry was suffering from depression and the murdered victim told him that he was possessed by evil spirits. The defendant's mental health deteriorated dramatically and, suffering from a severe depressive psychosis, Choudhry fatally stabbed the faith Healer, who died within minutes of the assault. Choudhry then attempted to take his own life. He was sentenced to a Hospital Order under the Mental Health Act.
