The seminar will consider business compliance with modern slavery statements under section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and further relevant requirements under other legislation. Nick will be discussing the genesis and current status of the transparency in supply chain provisions of the 2015 Act. He will speak with Sian Lea of Anti-Slavery International, who will consider calls for changes to the regime. The event is hosted by the Inner Temple and run by Dr Adaeze Okoye of the University of Brighton, with speakers drawn from practice (corporate law, business and human rights barristers and solicitors) civil society (business and human rights non-governmental organisations) and academia (including UK and European universities).
