Paul Wakerley represented a care home manager charged in connection with the death of a patient after a fall down a staircase.
Following the opening of the trial the manager pleaded guilty to failing to ensure the safety of the patient and received a suspended custodial sentence. The company owning the care home was fined £1.5m.
