Adam King was privately instructed for the defence of an Israeli businessman in High Court Contempt Proceedings instigated by Mr Justice Supperstone QC.
The client had been a witness in a civil claim alleging attempted murder by Maxim Bakiyev, the son of the former president of Kyrgyzstan. Mr Sin Beti had failed to answer a summons and a warrant had been executed on his arrival at Heathrow a year after the trial ended.
The judge was persuaded first to grant bail and then on a subsequent hearing to impose a suspended sentence.
