Eleanor Laws KC and Polly Dyer were instructed to advise the Solicitor General of Scotland in respect of the law on sexual offences in England and Wales.
Between Monday 21st October 2024 and Wednesday 23rd October 2024, the Supreme Court will be hearing conjoined appeals relating to sexual offences convictions under Scottish law.
Eleanor and Polly were instructed by the Solicitor General of Scotland to assist with their submissions to the Supreme Court in relation to the interpretation and application of the equivalent provisions applicable under the law in England and Wales, in particular the rape shield protections (s41 YJCEA 1999) and bad character provisions (s100 CJA 2003).
