Mohammed Abdul Shakur was convicted by a jury at the Old Bailey of murdering his wife, Juli Begum, and their children, Anika and Thanha Khanum, aged five and six, on New Year’s Day in 2007.
Mr Shakur fled the country in the days after the murder of his family, and was extradited from India in April of this year to face trial. He was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 40 years.
