Zoe led the prosecution of a mother following her killing of three of children, who all had spinal muscular atrophy, a muscle-wasting genetic condition. The case involved complex medical, social care and psychiatric evidence. Mrs Clarence's pleas to manslaughter were accepted by the CPS, after extensive analysis and consideration.
