Selva Ramasamy QC defended Keith Coventry in St Albans Crown Court in this multi-handed case involving a death by stabbing.
The prosecution alleged a joint enterprise murder. After a six week trial the jury acquitted Mr Coventry of murder, convicting of the lesser alternative of manslaughter.
A co-defendant was convicted of murder and was sentenced to life with a recommendation that he serve 23 years, whereas Mr Coventry received a sentence of seven years.
