Crispin Aylett QC, prosecuted James Warnock, 56, following the murder of Yiannoulla Yianni, 17, in 1982.
Warnock had managed to escape justice for 34 years. When a DNA match was identified, Warnock claimed to have had a consensual relationship with Yiannoulla – this was rejected by the jury.
