Eloise Emanuel successfully represents a man charged with Possession with Intent to Supply Class B Drugs.
Eloise Emanuel successfully represented Mr MS, who faced trial for one count of Possession with Intent to Supply Class B Drugs. Following a four day trial, Mr MS was successfully, and unanimously, acquitted by the jury.
Following acquittal, Mr MS fell to be sentenced for 11 offences, across three separate Indictments from 2 different Court Centres, following Guilty pleas before trial(s). Offences included Possession of Drugs and 2 counts of Dangerous Driving, in which it was alleged he had deliberately driven his vehicle towards police officers who had tried to stop him. Mr MS was described as having an ‘appalling record.’
Mr MS had been on remand for some time, and on Immigration hold, pending attempts to deport him. Ms Emanuel successfully applied for a Pre-Sentence Report, and together with information obtained from the Home Office, in which Criminal Case Work Enforcement accepted there was no prospect of imminent removal, Ms Emanuel was able to secure a 6 month Suspended Sentence Order, suspended for 2 years, enabling Mr MS to receive treatment in the community for his drug addiction.
Eloise was instructed by Paul Oliver of Stokoe Partnership Solicitors.
