Alexandra Felix KC and Tom Orpin-Massey represented a 23 year old woman of previous good character at Leicester Crown Court, accused of attempted murder. AR had been involved in a fight inside a nightclub in Leicester and on leaving had got into her car and run somebody over that she had been fighting with. The Crown’s case was that she had targeted the complainant deliberately, because of the earlier fight, and had tried to kill her. AR’s case was that the incident was an accident, and that she hadn’t seen the complainant, who had been amongst a group of people fighting in the road at the time.
AR was unanimously acquitted of both attempted murder and an alternative charge of GBH with intent.
