Ruth appeared at sentence on behalf of a child who admitted one offence of wounding with intent, after stabbing his mother to the face and neck. The mitigation bundle included psychiatric and psychological evidence as well as input from various other sources. The child was sentenced in the community to a Youth Rehabilitation Order with Intensive Supervision and Surveillance.
