Ari Alibhai, instructed by Mishcon de Reya, acted for Sky in a successful private prosecution in the Crown Court.
The defendant, Warren Gleave, had unlawfully made in excess of £200,000 by selling devices that provided access to illegal online streams of Sky and other premium content.
Mr Gleave pleaded guilty in May to an offence of knowingly participating in a fraudulent business, contrary to section 9 of the Fraud Act 2006. On 16th August he appeared at Burnley Crown Court where he received a 16-month custodial sentence.
