Philip Stott represented two General Practitioners, Dr M and Dr A, who were interested parties at the inquest into the death of Pauline Ryan, 60, who died whilst undergoing an alcohol detoxification programme at her home.
Dr M and Dr A were from her regular surgery and had interacted with Mrs Ryan in the months and weeks leading up to her death. The Coroner found that the deceased had died of natural causes with community acquired pneumonia, and that there had been no causative failure in respect of her care by her doctors.
Philip Stott was instructed to appear at the South Manchester Coroner’s Court by Sara Mason of the Medical Defence Union.
