Susannah Stevens represented a Police Federation Representative for the Metropolitan Police Service in a claim against the Metropolitan Police Service and the Independent Office for Police Conduct for false imprisonment.
The police officer was the Police Federation Representative to the two officers who gave evidence at the inquest into the death in police custody of a musician. The Police Federation Representative was charged with perverting the course of justice on the basis that he had assisted the two officers to change their evidence during the hearing. Susannah successfully obtained a quashing order and a declaration that there has been unfair delay following a three-day judicial review.
Counsel was instructed by Anthea Christie of Penningtons Manches Cooper.
