Susannah Stevens and Thomas Coke-Smyth represented three police officers accused of inappropriate conduct in the treatment of Thomas Orchard who died following a restraint with an emergency restraint belt in Exeter custody in 2012. Counsel successfully argued that the delay and failings in disclosure meant that the matter should not proceed to a substantive hearing.
