PC Pearmain and PC Miles, of Thames Valley Police, faced allegations of breaching honesty and integrity standards.
The officers were accused of deliberate dishonesty and collusion with respect to the content of their witness statements prepared for the prosecution of two drivers for various traffic offences.
The accused drivers had produced dash-cam footage which disproved elements of the officers’ accounts. However, the panel were persuaded that the errors were as a result of genuine mistakes.
Both officers ultimately received management advice.
Paul Wakerley was instructed by John Downes of Slater + Gordon.
