Caoimhe Daly, instructed by Bircham Dyson Bell on behalf of the General Social Care Counsel (now the Health and Care Professions Council), successfully defended a decision of the Conduct Committee of the General Social Care Council to remove a social worker from the register of social workers on the grounds of misconduct. Ms Senyange, a registered social worker, was convicted of benefit fraud in the sum of £23,144.15 having fraudulently claimed childcare allowance. Ms Senyange failed to inform her employers, Medway Council, of the conviction and on the days she attended court she informed them that a family emergency had arisen and that she had had a flat tyre.
