The Lampard Inquiry: Hearing Day 1 - Opening Statements. Nicholas Griffin KC is Counsel to the Inquiry, leading Rebecca Harris, Thomas Coke-Smyth and Kyan Pucks

The Lampard Inquiry begins today with opening statements from the Chair of the Inquiry, Baroness Kate Lampard CBE followed by Lead Counsel to the Inquiry, Nick Griffin KC of QEB Hollis Whiteman Chambers. The afternoon session will see opening statements made on behalf of families and patients.

Rebecca Harris, Thomas Coke-Smyth and Kyan Pucks all of QEB Hollis Whiteman are in the Counsel to the Inquiry team, working with Solicitor to the Inquiry, Catherine Turtle of TLT, and her team.

The Lampard Inquiry is an independent statutory inquiry investigating mental health inpatient deaths in Essex.   It continues the work of the Essex Mental Health Independent Inquiry. On 27 October 2023, the Department of Health and Social Care issued a formal notice of conversion, confirming the Inquiry’s statutory status.
